Developing Nations Report

From the “One World” link below, select a country to research from the list on the left-hand side of the page.

From the “One World” Web site and using Google, research information needed to write a 6-page report on your chosen country. Include in the report the following: the country's history, its developmental goals, and its political, social, and economic development. Include a paragraph explaining your opinion of the level of involvement the US should have in this country.

You will be presenting to the class a 10-minute, oral report about your country. Use index cards to write notes on your main ideas and topics.

Lesson Name:   Developing Nations Report
Objective:   Students will research and present a 6-page written and 10-minute oral report on a developing nation. Students will select one country and write a 6-page report about the country's history, goals, and development. Included in the report will be a paragraph on the student's thoughts about how much or little the United States should be involved in that country.

Interactive Whiteboard Tip:   To be used with their oral report, students can create a word processing document. In it, they can paste a map, flag and other pictures of their country. These can be referenced during their oral report.
