Buying a Ticket

Go to the first Web site below and watch and listen to the slideshow about buying a train ticket. Repeat the phrases after you hear them. Click on the "Key Words" and "Grammar" links above the slideshow to learn the rules used in the conversation.

Then, complete the first and second activity at the end of the conversation, "Re-arranging the conversation" and "Guess the words."

Go to the other Web sites listed to find at least 10 new words that fit the conversation and write them down. You will be assigned to groups where you will practice the conversation you listened to using the new words you found.

Interactive Whiteboard Tip:   Have each group recite their conversation for the class. During this, they can use the interactive whiteboard as a background. Have the group display a picture or graphic on the whiteboard as scenery. They can have their conversation in front of this background.
