Diet and Exercise Fact Finder

A large percentage of Americans are overweight. Weight problems in America have now reached national crisis levels. This activity is designed to help you have an understanding of the health issues and general dieting and exercise choices for Americans.

Use the Web sites below to learn and gather information about obesity, weight loss, diet, and exercise.

Use publishing software to create a brochure about obesity, a specific diet plan, and exercise.

Your brochure should include the following:

- A brief description of obesity in America.
- Factors that contribute to obesity.
- What types of goals should be set for maintaining a healthy weight?
- Why people should exercise and how it will help with weight loss?
- Discuss 3 different exercises, the calories they burn, what area of the body they target, and how to do them correctly.
- Discuss one diet plan, how it works, what you can and can't eat, and what the experts say about this diet.

Be creative with the layout of the brochure; add pictures, graphs, clipart, and wordart. If you make your brochure appealing, more people will be interested in reading it.
