Real Life Stories

Follow the instructions below to read about some situations that could have happened to you:
1) Read the story in the first link.
2) Answer the questions at the end of the story.
3) Click on the "Go to Part 2" link.
4) Answer the additional questions.
5) Scroll down to the section called "Your Turn" and pretend that it is the end of the week and time to write the follow-up story.
6) On paper, write your story according to the instructions and submit it.
7) Perform the instructions in steps 1-6 above using the second and third links.

Lesson Name:   Real Life Stories
Objective:   Students will improve their vocabulary and comprehension by reading 3 stories and answering questions about the events that occurred. After reading each story, students will practice their writing skills by composing a follow-up story to each of the 3 situations.

Interactive Whiteboard Tip:   As a class, go to the first Web site on the interactive whiteboard. Read the parts of the story and answer the questions together. Invite students to come up and click on the correct answers. After completing the exercises together, let students work independently to do their own.
