Phrasal Verbs
A phrasal verb is a verb plus a preposition or adverb which creates a meaning different from the original verb. For example, hand out means to distribute; it does not mean to move your hand out of something.
Go to the first Web site and read the definitions and examples and take notes.
Scroll down and click on "Quiz on Phrasal Verbs." Enter your first name only and click ok. In the menu on the left, click on "Show Me the Quiz." When the quiz displays, fill in the number of the sentence that corresponds to the matching verb in the box that says "Your Answer." When you are done, click "Check Score."
Go to the second Web site, and complete the 10 matching questions. When you are done, open your word processor. In your own words, define each phrasal verb from the matching questions and type a new sentence for each.
Print your work and hand it in.
