Ordinary Conversations

Click on the "Conversations" link below. Select a conversation from the list and click on "Play Video." Watch and listen to the video, and after each person speaks, press pause. Type what each person says in the box provided on the right. Make sure to use the correct punctuation and use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence. After you type what they say, click on "Check." After you have checked your answer, click on "Next" to complete the next statement. Repeat this until you have typed the whole conversation.

Go to your assigned group and repeat the conversation that you just read.

Lesson Name:   Ordinary Conversations
Objective:   Students will practice their comprehension, writing, and speaking skills by listening and watching a video of an ordinary conversation. They will then type answers in sentence form to each of the questions asked concerning the dialog. Then, they will break into groups and repeat the conversations they read about to each other.

Interactive Whiteboard Tip:   Display the information on the first Web site on the interactive whiteboard. Have students read it aloud and underline important facts using the whiteboard's pen/markers. Students can view this and take notes at their own seat.
