Raining Cats and Dogs

Idioms are colorful ways of describing something. For example, it is "raining cats and dogs," does not mean dogs and cats are falling from the sky; it means it is raining heavily.

Go to the first Web site and complete the 14 flashcards. To see the meaning of the idiom, click on "Other side on top." After you think you know the meaning, click on "Remove card." Complete this until all the cards are done.

Go to the second Web site and play the matching game. Click on the two terms that mean the same thing until you clear the entire board.

Go to the third Web site, "Painting with Idioms." In step 1, click animals (easy). In step 2, click the first option. Finally, select the character you would like to color in. After you select your character, click on the meaning of the idiom given to you. As you get the answers correct, your character will become colored in.
