Subtraction Blocks

Click on the first Web site, "Base Blocks Subtraction," below to play the subtraction game using the base blocks. Solve each problem by dragging each blue base block to a matching red base block to cancel it out. If needed, a base block can be carried over to the next column to regroup.

When you have completed 8 problems, click on the "Worksheet" link below. Using scrap paper, solve the first 10 subtraction problems, regrouping when necessary and type in your answer. After solving all problems, click on "Check Answers." Make any necessary corrections to your scrap paper and see where you made errors.

Then, draw the problems and answers to the first five using base blocks. Give a representation of each number in the problem in base blocks.
