Quadratic Functions

Quadratics can be defined as an expression or equation having a squared variable. Quadratic equations can be solved by factoring, completing the square or using the quadratic formula.

Use the first three Web sites to learn about quadratics, how to solve them and how to graph them. Be sure to review all the necessary sections on each Web site.

When you are finished, print the graph paper on the last site. (You will need several sheets.) Use this paper to solve and graph the following quadratic equations. You may use colored pencils for your graph.

1) x² + x + 6 = 0
2) x² + 3x - 18 = 0
3) x² = 16
